Farm Run 2019

Family friendly, run or walk!

Runners, walkers and nature-lovers of all types are invited to participate in PLC’s 2nd annual Farm Run. Start at the barn and run through the farm past scenic vistas and animals on this combination trail/grass/concrete 5k course. Not up for the full 5k? Walk or run on our scenic 1-mile course option.

All runners can enjoy a beer (for those over 21) or hot chocolate from Coffee Park Airstream as well as s’mores around the fire pit after the race. The Shoe Bus, Mini Mobile Fitness Boutique will also provide pre-race group stretching and post-race “Yoga For Runners” from certified yoga teachers.

In early 2018, an agreement was made which will allow PLC to buy the development rights of 92 of the 213 acres that make up what many know as “The Farm”– Crossnore School & Children’s Home along Reynolda Road. The agreement will protect the land from development by what’s known as a conservation easement. Crossnore will still own the land, but the agreement will keep intact a tract of land that has generated memories for scores of children for more than a century.

Registration includes long sleeve T-shirt. Proceeds from the event will support Piedmont Land Conservancy annual operating expenses.
